We’re lucky here in Massachusetts, as we have some amazing cannabis beverage brands that elevate the experience of sitting back and having a sip. And while seltzers from LEVIA, Cantrip, and Good Feels are delicious on their own, sometimes it’s nice to switch things up and take them to the next level. We’ll show you some tasty drink recipes made from cannabis seltzers in this blog. It’s the perfect way to gear up for summertime!

Cantrip Lemon Basil seltzer with fresh strawberries 

The lemon basil seltzer from Cantrip is truly a delight for your tastebuds. It’s got a sharp acidity with earthy undertones, including hints of wood and diesel. But you know what goes well with lemon and basil? Strawberries! This simple addition takes this drink to the next level. 

Start by making a simple strawberry syrup. This recipe is for a single serving, so adjust accordingly:

1. Chop up 3-5 strawberries and bring them to a boil in a saucepan. 
2. Stir in a tbsp of sugar
3. Stir continuously until the strawberries create a syrup-like texture
4. Remove from the saucepan and strain the strawberry mixture, keeping just the syrup

Now you have a small batch of strawberry syrup. Allow it to cool before adding to the seltzer. 

In the meantime, you can chop up 2-3 more strawberries to add to the drink. Fill a tall glass with ice. Drizzle the strawberry syrup over the ice, and add your fresh chopped strawberries (but save 2-3 small slices). Pour the can of Cantrip Lemon Basil Seltzer over the ice and strawberry mixture, and garnish with a couple of strawberry slices along the edge of the cup. 

There you have it! A delicious, refreshing strawberry lemon basil seltzer, and all you had to do is prep the strawberries. That’s a win. 

This seltzer is low-dose with quick onset, so you can expect to feel effects shortly after taking a sip. It comes with 3 mg of THC and 2 mg of CBD, so the effects should not be super intense. 

Lemon Lime LEVIA seltzer with cherry and grenadine

If you like Shirley Temples, this adaptation of LEVIA’s lemon-lime soda will have you coming back for more. It’s nostalgic and refreshing, perfect for a spring or summer day. Plus, it’s extremely easy to make. You just need some grenadine and maraschino cherries to take it all the way.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Fill a tall glass with ice 
2. Add 2 tbsp of grenadine 
3. Add a splash of maraschino cherry juice from the jar 
4. Pour the lemon-lime seltzer over the ice and grenadine
5. Top with a maraschino cherry 
6. Stir and enjoy

Lighter and less sweet than a traditional Shirley Temple, this is a delicious twist on the already tasty LEVIA seltzer. Their sparkling lemon-lime seltzer comes with 5 mg of full-spectrum cannabis extract and provides a relaxed, focused, and social experience. It’s great for kicking back and relaxing in the sun, or for hanging out on the porch with friends. 

Good Feels grapefruit seltzer with melon 

It’s hard to go wrong with grapefruit and melon. On a warm day, there’s nothing better than taking a sip of this fruity drink and letting its mild, relaxing effects take hold. We’ll show you how to elevate the already-delicious Good Feels grapefruit seltzer with the help of fresh melon. 

It’s extremely easy, so let’s begin!

1. Chop up ¼ cup of cantaloupe and ¼ cup of honeydew
2. Add to a tall glass with ice 
3. Mix up with a spoon to release some of the juices
4. Pour the Good Feels seltzer over the mixture
5. Stir and enjoy

With 3 mg of THC and 2 mg of CBD, this is a lovely feel-good drink that is sure to elevate any afternoon. We recommend pouring yourself a glass, grabbing a book, and sitting out in the sun. 

What’s the deal with cannabis beverages?

If you’re unfamiliar with cannabis beverages, we just threw a lot of information at you. Don’t worry, though. Beverages tend to act just like edibles, taking effect within 30 minutes to two hours. Some on the list, like the Cantrip Seltzer, are designed to take effect even faster, though. You’ll likely be feeling the relaxing effects by the time you finish your glass. 

With this in mind, don’t get too drink-happy until you know your tolerance. This can be hard to do when they taste delicious, but it’s important. These are low-dose seltzers, so some people can do just fine drinking 2-3 at a time. But if you’re not sure how your body will react, start low and go slow. The last thing you want to do is finish a second drink just as the first one is hitting hard. You can always drink more, but you can’t undo drinking too much.
